I was talked into purchasing the Guardian Warranty by a used car salesman and I asked pertinent questions such as "can I take it anywhere whenever I need it repaired to get it repaired?" and the answer was yes. Well they lied and I submitted a claim to Guardian and they refused the claim because they said it was not "preauthorized".

Come on - the front wheel bearing was out and the wheel was about to fall off, so no time to get preauthorized.

Since have looked at the internet and it looks like they never pay for what they should. NEVER NEVER PURCHASE GUARDIAN WARRANTY!!

I have a Guardian Contract that I have tried to cancellduring the thirty day grace period. I called guardian they would not give me a cacellation letter or Email me one.

I have a 2009 chev.

HHr with 2600 miled and I did not know that I would be required to pay 149.00 per month in addition to the $179.00 that I gave them over the phone. I am not comfortable with this, that I cancelled over the phone.

I called the dealer, asked is this warranty real. They told me, it's a THIRD PARTY contract.

Best to go straight with the Dealer, cost is NOT that much different. Never buy a CONTRACT over the phone. They pressure you . Call your Dealer first.

Ask questions with the Dealer experience. Pays in the long run.

IM BUYING A $40,000 USED CAR AND THE DEALER IS SELLING ME THIS WARRANTY BUT READING THIS IS MAKING ME NERVOUS

Turn them in to BBB and the Attorney General, worked for me.

I agree with Marjorie-I think the person who loves GWC is an employee who works for them. I happen to have read the warranty--IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!

GWC WILL FIND A WAY TO NOT PAY! This company has so many loopholes-they find every possible excuse when your mechanic calls in NOT to pay-I have a very patient mechanic and they tried his patience. So the person WHO LOVES Guardian Warranty-heaven help you when your car breaks down and you have to wait 1/2 just to speak to someone and then they deny everything your mechanic wants to do.

You have to ask yourself WHY does this company have so many complaints?? Go to the BBB site and see-it does not matter that they are an A+ accredited business it just means they paid BBB to get that stature.

GWC WARRANTY COMPANY located in PA. is the biggest sham, scam of a company.

I bought my daughter a used VW from Colonial Motors in Minehill,NJ who said they cover everything. I did purchase the best warranty. To make a long story it is my mechanics job (first mistake with this company)to get an authorization number-but you have to reach somebody there first-either they are rude or you go in voice mail, you get put on hold, or they just do not call you back. Who has time to wait when you need your car.

I paid almost $1300 out of pocket. They do not make the transaction easy for the mechanic-I think that is what they want because they do not want to pay any money out of pocket. I do not know if the used car dealer is part of their scam but he should be ashamed of himself too! GWC does not realize some of these warranties are being purchased for college students cars, elderly people also-they do not care!

They received their money-but they do not pay what they are supposed to. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A GWC WARRANTY.

Why are there so many complaints about Guardian then Mr. Smart butt?

You have some kind of connection with guardian or you wouldn't be defending them so when everybody else knows what a *** scummy company they are. They just want your money, but they will not fix your car and have all these loopholes to get out of their contract. Make all the smart remarks you want to. I won't be seeing them.

I am unsubscribing to this link. YOUR THE DUMMY!!!

It simply amazes me how *** people really are. READ YOUR CONTRACT!

If the company tells you that you need to gain authorization prior to any work being done, and you don't, then guess what, your the ***, not them. They give you rules, you don't follow them and you think they are the bad guy. You are as *** as they come. As far as there was no time to call it in because the bearing was about to fall off.

Wheel bearings don't get that bad overnight, with no prior signs of going bad. Again, a very *** move on your part to not have it checked when it first started to get noisy. The problem is, people do not read what they are signing, and just "assume" that they have a "bumper to bumper" warranty that covers everything no matter what the garage wants to charge.

Wake up reject, thats not how it works!! :cry

No Marjorie, your the joke. I know for a fact that Guardian Warranty pays their claims and has the best reputation in the business.

You want to discredit them because you were too *** to ask questions when you were buying the vehicle, too *** to read your contract, and even though Guardian sends you out an acceptance card with everything you should know, you don't read that either.

Maybe with every warranty Guardian sells, they can send out an interpreter to read the contract for you, so that they don't have to be discredited for your stupidity anymore. Have a nice day DUMMY!!!!

I think the "SOMEONE WHO LOVES GUARDIAN WARRANTY" is someone who WORKS for Guardian Warranty!!! What a joke!!!

I agree with all the complaints about guardian warranty. DO NOT WALK BUT RUN AWAY from these crooks before you consider buying this extended warranty. They have loop holes for all your problems- not willing to pay your shops hourly rate, time to do a job is not granted on repairs and good luck trying to get a person on the phone!

This is for all the idiots who don't read before they sign. On any warranty contract, it tells you exactly what is covered based on what YOU chose.

That doesn't mean that ANYTHING that breaks is covered. Your health insurance doesn't cover alot of things. Your car insurance doesn't cover everything either. Mr Audi TT, if that piece of junk you bought has that many issues, maybe you should have brought it back to the dealer who sold it to you.

The warranty company is not in business to refurbish junk piles. Also warranty companies are not going to pay what your mechanic wants to over charge, they're only going to pay what's fair. If you were paying for the job would you shop for the most expensive parts and the highest labor rates? I think not.

So why would you expect Guardian to? Next time you buy a used car, be sure to have it checked out by a certified trustworthy mechanic who has been around a long time (BEFORE YOU BUY THE CAR) Check Edmund's .Com to see how reliable they are (BEFORE YOU BUY THE CAR). Make sure you put a Guardian Warranty on there, read the contract and know what is covered and always call for preauthorization and you will never have a problem with Guardian Warranty. They stand behind their warranties.

Better luck next time!!! :)

Where does it say on your contract that you don't have to call in claims on wheel bearings? When you buy a warranty, it works just like health insurance.

If you get it prauthorized theres never a problem. You decided to rewrite the rules because you didn't want to be incovenienced and now your pissed off. This isn't Burger King (have it your way). They tell you that you must get preauthorized before starting repairs.

That so they can protect you and the warranty company from unneccesary or fraudulent repairs. You chose not to let the warranty company administrate and do their job so you did it your way.

Enjoy!!!! :p :grin :cry :p :grin :cry :p :grin :cry :cry :cry :cry

What apiece of *** company.....they wont cover not even half of my Audi TT's issues....if you want anything paid by them, you have to send it to "recommended" mechanic and they wont even allow this mechanic to purchase the part, they send it to them, because they look for the cheapest piece of *** they can find to "fix" your car. Plus they wont pay full amount of the labor cost, only a small portion. Customer service sucks, don't know how they sleep at night with all the complaints they get every day.

STAY AWAY from this company, they will only increase your cost in the long run....I wasted money on these "warrant", it is useless.

Guest

I just got burned by them also

they state you can go anywhere but they forgot to say they don't cover nearly what they promise

Guest

GWC is dangerous. You have to remember that they are a business first, so making a profit is top priority.

Even if you get them to fully cover a repair be prepared for a long wait. Plus, GWC will use the cheapest parts available, so you can kiss factory recommended parts goodbye.

I wouldn't recommend GWC. You are better off making a budget for expected and emergency auto repairs, because in the end you will pay less than if you bought a GWC warranty.

These people told me that if I did not accept and pay on THAT phone call that it was over. What kind of legitimate company does that?

I'll tell you, greedy scammers. They offered many discounts and wanted my card number numerous times.

Come on man! If I was to purchase something like this I would certainly read all of the fine print and rules but these people wanted my money immediately.
